Celebrating Tom's birthday ... we travel to the Camden, Maine area Thanksgiving weekend
Samoset Resort on the Ocean - Christmas in full swing here
-- many spots to enjoy the scenery --
-- schooners put to bed for winter --

Hotel perk: wireless internet access.

All places will be expected to have it soon.

Drove our car to the top of Mt. Battie

The best part of the trip; we buy one of Gordon Bok's wood carvings at the Harbor Square Gallery in Rockland, ME for Tom's birthday.

This one's titled, "Old Times". Gordon carves these works of art in between singing his sea songs for audiences.

~ HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL ~

Our niece, Meredith, was married to Ned this past weekend in CT. Lots of family and friends traveled from as far away as California to celebrate.

As you can see, Tom is still managing even though he's retired.

On the weekends, we usually explore unfamiliar parts of Westport and surrounding coastal towns. This photo was taken in the southwestern portion of Westport near the Rhode Island border.

The ocean is in the horizon.

Have you heard of Gordon Bok? Tom's been following his songs of the land and sea for 30 years. We were very fortunate this past Friday to attend Gordon's concert held at The New Bedford Whaling Museum. The new theater there only holds about 250 people so the concert was intimate and acoustics great.

it's that time again ... unfortunately
Azor's sail on the dock. Nonsuch boats have only one sail which means they are huge and heavy. Each year, after de-commissioning, the sail is sent to the sail loft in Bristol, RI for cleaning and inspection for wear.
At the bulkhead ready to be hauled for the season. Azor's winter home is inside one of the large barns at Tripp's.

Cindy celebrated her birthday this past weekend by visiting her best friend, Mary Lou.

Mary Lou, husband Kirk, and their daughter, Lauren, live in South Carolina.

We had a terrific weekend. On Saturday night we stayed at the Highland Inn in Flat Rock, NC.

we've been best friends since 9th grade in upstate New York
The two flights back home on Sunday were amazing. The first leg flew over the spectacular Blue Ridge Mountain range and then into Philadelphia as the sun was setting. The second leg was even more eventful. The pilot announced he'd never seen such a sight in the 35 years he's flown as an airline pilot. An unbelievable show of northern lights which is very rare this time of year and viewed that far south. What luck!

Zot's in the boatyard shed for winterizing and maintenance.

Azor will be hauled next week.

The bulb planting is finished. We're up to about 7,000 now!
